Familiarisation with water and the introduction to swimming can also be done through play. It is another manner to approach water for children and build their confidence in themselves in a playful and fun way.

 

Nabaiji offers you a selection of six swimming pool games that will amuse you and your children for hours on end!

 

AquaBasket

  • Number of players: two or more

  • Accessories: A swimming pool basketball hoop, a ball
  • Rules: in twos or in teams, try to get as many baskets as possible. The first player or team who manages to score 20 points wins!

Crazy races

  • Number of players: two or more

  • Accessories: your arms and legs and those of your children
  • Rules: as indicated by the name, these are races with a difference! Set a starting and finishing line and let your imagination take over: swim with a hybrid stroke (breaststroke arms and crawl legs), swim with a ball in your hands, while singing, etc.

Speed Ball

  • Number of players: two or more
  • Accessories: a ball
  • Rules: the players line up along an imaginary starting line with the ball in front of them. They must move the ball forward over the finishing line without touching it and only using their breath. The first person to get there wins!

Beware of the shark

  • Number of players: two or more

  • Accessories: your animal instinct
  • Rules: the aim for the players (the fish) is to avoid being touched by the designated adult or child (the shark). Once touched, the roles change, the fish becomes the shark and vice versa. Everyone for themselves!

Aqua-Miming

  • Number of players: two

  • Accessories: your imagination, a mask or swimming goggles
  • Rules: the two players must go underwater at the same time. One mimes whatever comes to mind and the other tries to guess. Once the correct answer has been found, the roles are reversed!

Treasure Hunt

  • Number of players: two or more

  • Accessories: plastic rings, your detective skills
  • Rules: while the players cover their eyes with their hands and turn their backs, an adult hides a ring at the bottom of the water. On your marks, get set, go! The first to find the ring wins!

Aqua Volley

  • Number of players: two or more (even numbers)

  • Accessories: a water volleyball net, a ball
  • Rules: Pass the ball over the net, from one person or team to another without dropping it. If the ball touches the water, the opposing team wins a point. The first player or team to score 20 points wins! Play together!

Splashing status!

  • Number of players: two or more

  • Accessories: your reflexes 
  • Rules: the same rules as “Statues”, a designated child or adult is placed facing the wall. The other players must move towards them with the aim of touching the wall. When the player at the wall turns, the others must stop and remain as still as statues. The first to move is eliminated and so on...

Water polo

  • Number of players: two or more

  • Accessories: a water polo goal, a ball
  • Rules: in twos or in teams, pick a goalkeeper and try to score as many goals as possible. The first player or team who manages to score 20 points wins! Play together!

Jeu du tunnel

Tunnel

  • Number of players: two or more

  • Accessories: an adult’s legs or water hoops
  • Rules: place one or more water hoops underwater at the bottom of the pool. The players have to swim through the hoops one by one, without touching the edges. A variant of the game consists in replacing the hoops with an adult’s legs.

 

These lively games will allow you to spend fun time as a family, reduce any apprehension your children may have or even help them make progress in swimming.
